Tena Dugan shares her perspective on endorsements, integrity, and independent decision-making, explaining that every vote and decision must be based on facts, resident input, and what is best for Maricopa.
To me, an endorsement is simple. It’s when someone says they believe in you and your ability to serve. That’s something I don’t take lightly. I’m truly honored when someone chooses to support me.
At the same time, an endorsement doesn’t mean someone gets a say in how I vote or the decisions I make. Integrity is very important to me. Every decision will come down to the facts, the data, input from residents, and what is best for our community as a whole.
I also understand that not everyone will agree with every vote I make. That’s part of public service. What I can promise is that I will always be willing to explain my decisions and how I arrived at them.
I’ve also seen some conversation around who supports me. I think it’s important to say this clearly. I am responsible for my own actions, my own words, and my own decisions. Support from others does not define me, and I don’t believe in judging people based on who supports them.
For me, this campaign is about showing up, listening, and making thoughtful decisions. It’s about representing the community in a way that is fair, balanced, and focused on the greater good.
At the end of the day, my commitment is simple. I will make decisions based on what is right for Maricopa.
